Mti Mkubwa Camp

Mti Mkubwa Camp, also called Big Tree Camp, is a forest campsite on the western approach to Kilimanjaro. It is commonly used on Lemosho routes and gives the first night a quieter, greener mountain atmosphere.

The camp is basic and remote, with tents, crew meals, and evening health checks. It helps trekkers transition from the road to the trail before climbing onto Shira Plateau.
