Accommodation Overview
Shira Camp is a broad plateau camp with open views toward Kibo, Mount Meru, and the western side of Kilimanjaro. It is used on routes crossing the Shira Plateau and gives trekkers a strong sense of scale and altitude.
The camp is exposed, scenic, and cooler than the forest zones. It supports gradual acclimatization before the trail continues toward Lava Tower, Barranco, or related route variations.
